Secretary, ASCD-Canadian Educational Network,
Past President: Fred Fonseca


Fred became involved with Alberta ASCD as a way to extend his professional learning and growth.  "ASCD has provided me with opportunities to learn and network with colleagues from all over Alberta and the United States."  In his current position as Secretary, he is responsible for taking minutes at all meetings. 

 

Fred also assists the President with the agenda for meetings and deals with correspondence as requested by the Executive Committee.

Executive Director, Treasurer, ASCD Leadership Council,
ASCD-Canadian Educational Network member :
Lorraine Ringrose

As Treasurer for the Provincial Affiliate, Lorraine is responsible for all funds collected and expended by the Affiliate, and for keeping accurate records of all transactions. As Treasurer, Lorraine presents reports for all AASCD meetings.  As a member of the ASCD Leadership Council, Lorraine attends the annual general meeting as a representative of the Alberta ASCD Affiliate. As a Canadian Educational Network member, Lorraine attends the annual meetings as a representative of the AASCD.
Lorraine joined the Alberta Affiliate Board of Directors 8 years ago because she was interested in the collaboration and networking opportunities that the group provides in all areas of education, both within our province and internationally. Her goal is to continue to work with AASCD to showcase best teaching practices in Alberta, to share our work with others and to provide learning and networking opportunities for others in the teaching profession in Alberta.

Membership: Rick Angus
This is Rick’s first year on the executive of the Alberta ASCD.  In Rick’s position as the membership director he is responsible for maintaining contact with existing members and initiating contact with new members. Rick is keen to continue to recruit new members and help provide a valuable experience to our outstanding membership.  Rick is excited about the opportunities to learn and network with colleagues from across the province. 

Rick has diverse background in education that has taken him around the world and into several roles and positions that support teaching and learning.

Provincial Programs Director, 

Innovative Practices Coordinator: Corinne Reklow

As the Provincial Programs Director, Corinne is responsible for promoting initiatives across the province such as our Innovative Practice Awards that celebrate excellence in our Alberta schools.  Corinne is hoping that by highlighting innovative practices, the AASCD will be successful in bringing Alberta school boards together by sharing these best practices with each other.
